New Photo Greeting Cards!

Wow, have we been busy! It seems like time is speeding up somehow. I feel like I’m playing that old game, “Crack the Whip!”, only the “whip” is time, and I’m on the end of the line!

I wrote recently about signs of fall that have already started, and we saw some more today. When I went out into the yard, I saw by the sidewalk chalk drawing that today is the first day of school for our young neighbor. He is starting kindergarten, and since he is the first, his mom was a little nervous.

Such a sweet sign of fall!

That moment when your first-born heads out to kindergarten is a milestone that only happens once in your life. When it was time for Tony to start school, I felt like I wasn’t ready–I was so nervous! Tony was pretty cool, though. He was NOT nervous, just very excited! (Silly kid forgot to tell me goodbye!)

I reassured her that she would be fine. It’s normal to be emotional when you ease out of one part of your life and start a new one! Later in the afternoon, she gave me a good report: She said her son loved his teacher and made a new friend. What more can you ask for on the first day of school?

So as I was heading back inside, a flash of color caught my eye: What was that? No Way! A maple leaf? Yep–I stepped back and found multiple maple leaves, and that’s a fall thing, you know?

I love it when an autumn leaf is half green! This old maple tree has been standing over a hundred years, and the leaves are usually yellow.
This year we may have a bit of red. (This one is now on a card!)

So, when I saw those few perfect maple leaves, untrampled, against the green grass, I grabbed the camera and took a few pictures. That’s how it started, and then Beau got involved (since Tony was busy cooking elderberry syrup in the kitchen), and Voila! We now have some new greeting card designs!

Tony has been at it again, picking ripe elderberries for his elderberry syrup. (This one is NOT a new card design.
I just wanted to show you the beautiful elderberries!)
“It’s all right, dear,” her mother said. “The children are friendly. Just go over and say ‘hello’ to your teacher.”
(This IS a new card, but it is blank inside–no school-themed commentary!)
Another new design: Did anyone else wait a little bit late to put in their tomatoes? (Blush!)
This little soldier was patrolling the goldenrod, and paused for this photo op. He is now memorialized on a greeting card.

Tony is down at the Michigan Street Farmer’s Market in Reading as I write this, so if you want to see the new designs, that’s where you can get them. We will probably have a few more new designs each week, until the market closes for the season.

Our little soldier ladybug on a card, with an envelope!
Single cards are only $2 each!
