This past weekend was the last time we will see mid-to-upper 80’s in Michigan this year, I think!
Fall is the time for eye candy: Did you see the beautiful full moon?
We saw it in the country. . .

. . .and we saw it in the beautiful city of Goshen, IN. See it peeking around the church steeple?

I much prefer the country view, but it gives a bit of perspective to see it near the steeple. It was huge!

We enjoyed a beautiful walk on Sunday–at our favorite park, of course.

Some of the birds are already starting to get ready to migrate. Usually, staffing is reduced when the customers begin to thin out. But to our surprise, Park Security swelled the ranks!

So when they chased us down the road, it might have been an over-reaction out of embarrassment. But I wonder if the new guys are a bad influence.

Though I love to see the beautiful fall colors, I am always reluctant to see the green leaves die, or to see the flowers going away. I don’t think I am alone in this. We found a bunch of wildflowers in full bloom, and a honeybee was working away–even on Sunday!

My longing for the waning summer was reinforced by the presence of “Forget me not’s” all along the brook.

(Several other birds refused to wait their turn.)

Fall’s revelry has come.
We harvested the last of the peppers this morning, and took the green tomatoes so we can make mincemeat pie, but how I hate to take the unripe fruit! It’s so true that we only have so long, and we must do all we can in the time that is left to us.
“Work, for the night is coming, when no man can work.” (John 9:4)
The Pirate’s Bride is almost ready. I will update you on that soon.
Have a productive day, my friends, but it’s OK to take a break. If there are any roses left, stop and smell them. And as for the leaves, they go out in a blaze of glory. Enjoy God’s visual blessings! Much love to you!
