I think this is what is meant by “putting to death the old man.” It means forsaking the sinful desires and ambitions that I had, and moving toward Jesus when I stumble so he can comfort and change my heart.

You know what always tells the truth? Nature. A blade of grass can’t lie. The song of the red-winged blackbird is always true. And what I witness in the natural world tells me that good things are happening under the surface. Yes, right here under my nose!
Leap Day, 2024!
Spring is a good name for this season of emergence from winter, because it behaves a little bit like a spring, doesn’t it? The temperature goes way up, hovers for a moment, then dives to an extreme low. The clouds come, then the next thing you know, it’s clear! Perfect time for ice cream! (We’ll use any excuse!)
Run toward the Dawn
The natural world alone can’t sustain this; it is only the Spirit of the Lord that brings this kind of joy.

Making the invisible visible
With a camera, the light setting may be adjusted, and what has been formerly invisible or very faint becomes obviously visible. With a human mind, it is the will that must be adjusted.
